This scheme which has full Government backing and is regulated by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) looks to help riders gain further skills once they have passed their test.
The scheme is linked to leading UK insurers, some of whom are offering various discounts for customers who take the ERS scheme.
The scheme is designed for fully licenced motorcyclists who would like to improve particular areas of their riding.
Training is tailored to your needs. You do as much or as little training as required, mostly to help reduce key risk areas, such as bend assessment, overtaking, limit points, positioning and junctions.
Riders can visit SPS Rider Training an approved and accredited trainer for an assessment of their riding skills.
There is no 'pass' or 'fail', no test is involved and you cannot lose your licence. If your riding skills are satisfactory, the process ends there and you will be issued with an ERS Certificate.
If further training is required, we will prepare a personalised training plan to concentrate on areas needing specific attention.
Once training is completed, you will receive a report and an ERS Certificate which may then qualify you for an insurance discount, if your particular insurance company supports the scheme.
